How to rearrange the page order in a PDF

Reorder pages is useful when scans were combined in the wrong order or an appendix needs to move. The tool uses a complete page sequence, which makes the requested arrangement explicit.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Enter every page number once in the order you want.
  3. Create the PDF and check the new sequence.

A practical example

For a four-page document whose last page should be first, enter “4, 1, 2, 3”. Include every page exactly once. Missing or repeated page numbers are rejected so that the operation does not silently omit or duplicate a page.

Limits and common mistakes

Use the PDF’s physical page positions, including covers and blank inserts. Printed page labels may follow a different sequence. If you intentionally want to keep only part of the file, use Extract pages rather than trying to leave numbers out here.

Check your downloaded result

Check the new first and last pages and every transition where the sequence changed. A table of contents or a reference written inside the document may now be outdated; this tool does not rewrite that text or update document-level navigation.

Where processing happens

Your document is processed locally in your browser. Document contents are not uploaded to the PDFDesk server. Opening the website still sends ordinary connection information to the host.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put the last page first?

Start the sequence with the last page number and then list the remaining pages. For a three-page document, use 3, 1, 2.

Do I have to include every page?

Yes. This tool requires every page exactly once. Use Extract pages if you want a subset.

Can I repeat a page in the output?

No. Duplicate page numbers are not accepted by this reordering tool.
