How to remove unwanted pages from a PDF
A PDF may contain a blank scan, a duplicate cover sheet or a page that does not belong in the final copy. Remove pages creates a new document containing everything except the positions you specify.
Open Remove PDF pages ↗Step-by-step instructions
- Choose an unencrypted PDF.
- Enter the page numbers or ranges to remove.
- Create a new PDF containing the remaining pages.
A practical example
For an eight-page document with unwanted pages 2 and 6–7, enter “2, 6-7”. The result should contain five pages in their original relative order. At least one page must remain; the tool will reject a selection that removes the entire document.
Limits and common mistakes
Check whether page numbers printed on the document match the PDF’s actual page positions. They often differ when a file includes covers or inserts. Removing a page is also different from removing part of a page, which requires the section-erase tool.
Check your downloaded result
Verify the output page count and look at the pages immediately before and after each removed section. Check that a double-sided scan has not caused you to remove the wrong side. Keep the original until the edited copy has been reviewed.
Where processing happens
Your document is processed locally in your browser. Document contents are not uploaded to the PDFDesk server. Opening the website still sends ordinary connection information to the host.
Frequently asked questions
How can I remove several pages at once?
Use comma-separated numbers and ranges, such as 2, 5-7. These pages are left out of the new PDF.
Can I remove every page?
No. At least one page must remain in the output document.
Does removing a page permanently change my source PDF?
No. The original remains on your device. The tool produces a separate PDF with the selected pages omitted.
